How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication for Facebook

Securing your Facebook account with two-factor authentication is crucial. This guide will walk you through setting up two-factor authentication using the Authenticator App. 

  1. Start by downloading the Authenticator App.
  2. Once done, go to Facebook and tap on your Profile
  3. Scroll down and tap on Settings & Privacy.
  4. Go to Settings
  1. Tap on Accounts Center.
  1. Under Account Settings, tap on Password and Security.
  1. Tap on Two-factor Authentication.
  1. Choose your Facebook account. 
  1. Select the Authentication App option.
  1. On the next page, you’ll see a key that you need to use to register your Facebook account to the authenticator. Tap on Copy Key
  1. Open the Authenticator App
  2. Tap the + icon in the lower right corner. 
  1. Now, tap on Choose Alternative Method.
  1. Select Enter Key Manually
  1. Assign an account name (what you prefer or simply Facebook). 
  2. Paste the key you’ve copied in the Secret Key field
  3. Tap on Add
  1. Copy the authentication code for your Facebook account in the Authenticator App.
  1. Go back to Facebook and tap Next
  2. Paste the code and hit Next.
  1. Wait for the process to complete and tap Done
